Online Giving to the Institute of Egyptian Art & Archaeology

If you would like to donate to the Institute of Egyptian Art & Archaeology by writing a check, please return to the Donations page.

If you would like to charge your donation to a credit card, go to the University of Memphis Foundation's secure website for online giving. On the main page, click on the link for the College of Communication and Fine Arts. The IEAA is a unit of this college.

Note: the online form works best when using Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

The first screen of the online giving form requests personal information. Please fill this out as completely as possible. Only items marked with a red asterisk (*) are required.

Click here to see an Acrobat pdf image of the first screen.

Hints for filling out the form (screen 1): In the first set of fields, check the Friend radio button if you are not a parent of a currently enrolled student or an alumnus or staff/faculty member of the University of Memphis.

Email: if you do not have an email account, enter "None" into this required field.

If you want your gift to be anonymous and not appear in University of Memphis and IEAA publications, please check the "Anonymous" box at the bottom of the first screen.

Press the Next button at the bottom of the screen to continue on.

Click here to see an Acrobat pdf image of the second screen.

Hints for filling out the form (screen 2): At the top of the screen is the What amount would you like to contribute to the University of Memphis Annual Fund? section. Enter an amount into this section ONLY if you wish to give to the University's Annual Fund.

The U of M Annual Fund does not direct money to the IEAA.

If you do not want to donate to the Annual Fund, select the Supporters radio button and enter a zero (0) into the Amount field. Do not put a dollar sign ($) before the zero (0). Any amount entered in this field will go to the University of Memphis Annual Fund and not go to the IEAA.

To give money to the Institute of Egyptian Art & Archaeology -

In the next section, Would you like to designate how your gift will be used?, select the "My contribution should be distributed to:" radio button.

To select the correct fund name, press the Fund List button to the left of the "Other designee" field.

A pop-up list of eight (8) special funds within the College of Communication and Fine Arts will appear. The third entry from the top is for the Institute of Egyptian Art & Archaeology. Select the entry using the "copy" function of your computer's mouse, then move back to the Online Giving screen and "paste" the entry into the "Other Designee" field.

NOTE: If you intend your donation to go to improving or expanding the ancient Egyptian collection of the IEAA, do not select the "Museum Account". This fund is for the Art Museum of the University of Memphis, which is separate from the IEAA.

Enter the amount you would like to donate to the IEAA in the "Other amount" field. Do not put a dollar sign ($) before the amount. Enter only whole dollar amounts into this field (e.g. enter 25, not 25.00 or $25.00)

Check the preferred radio buttons for How would you like to make your gift? (all at once or in installments) and How would you like to make your payment? (credit card, bank draft, check or pledge).

NOTE: You do NOT need to fill this form out if you prefer to donate to the IEAA by check. Go to the Donations page if you want to donate by check.

Press the "Next" button at the bottom of the page to continue.

Click here to see an Acrobat pdf image of the credit card donation screen.

Hints for filling out the form (screen 3): Depending on the payment option selected on screen two, you will see different information on screen 3. For credit card giving, please fill out all the required fields and then press the Finish button.

If you are writing a check, we recommend that you mail your check directly to the IEAA and not to UofM Foundation. The UofM Foundation does not notify departments of directed donations, so if your gift were lost or incorrectly assigned, the IEAA would not be able to trace it. See the Donations page for giving to the IEAA via check.
Hints for viewing the form (screen 4): The University of Memphis Foundation online giving system will assign you a reference number for your online donation. Please write this number down or print out the page before leaving the online giving screen; this reference number will be useful if there is a problem with processing your gift. The faculty and staff of the Institute of Egyptian Art & Archaeology would like to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting the Institute.
